June 7, 2010. Sherry and I had the pleasure of meeting Jim Masikewich and family members, Kay, Jenifer, Amber, and Robert. They were on a cruise and learn trip and we met up at Poets Cove. Jim had been looking at purchasing a North Pacific 43. It didn"t take very long and talking turned to boating, and we were soon underway. We had a short safety briefing and untied our lines, then headed out south of Pender Island. Jim took the helm. It must have been good fortune, as we saw a small pod of porpoise within minutes. Its always a lot of fun to see the smile on a persons face for the first time at the wheel. Jim has been studying the North Pacific 43 for some time as he knew all of the technical data on the boat. Very impressive. All in all, a great short trip which had everyone smiling.
