Ganges, Salt Spring Island

We tied up Springer at the Salt Spring Island Marina in Ganges after a short haul from Poets Cove. It was low tide and we only had a couple of feet clearance under our hull. My knuckles were white, but we made it without dusting off the prop. Sherry and I have been coming here for 20 years and always enjoy Moby"s pub and the local atmosphere.

The marina attendant informed us that the marina is scheduled to be dredged out and news floats built sometime over the next year.

We met a couple from Quesnel, BC who were on their maiden voyage with their 26 ft MacGregor sail boat. Yvonne and Glenn Lefebrvre have been coming here for many years kayaking and have chartered 38 ft. sail boats.
We really enjoyed their company for the 2 days that we were there. They both have a wicked sense of humour and really enjoy life.
We had them over for dinner on our boat and then went to Moby"s to finish watching the hockey game. We arrived in time to see Chicago win the Stanley cup over Philadelfia 4-3.

I am sure that we will run into them again in the future.
